When a job goes wrong

A job can be cancelled, damaged or need a redo. Its SOP no longer fits, so it moves onto a recovery procedure: an SOP version published for that case.

Only a job can move to another version, whether it sits under a booking or stands alone. A quote or booking keeps the version its chain started with.

How a move works

  1. The agent shows you what happened and why the current SOP no longer fits, citing the evidence.
  2. You choose the recovery procedure. The agent never chooses for you.
  3. Your yes is recorded as evidence, and the job adopts the new version.
  4. The agent re-judges the new milestones from what is already recorded.

Nothing is lost. The earlier SOP stays readable, and its milestones stay as history, never marked done to tidy up.

Write recovery procedures as a fork

Copy every milestone before the break point word for word, in a phase of the same name. A job that moves keeps those milestones and their status. From the break point on, write the new steps. Write only the steps you know today; publish v2 when you know more.

The break-glass skill runs this with your approval.
